Keiki Inury Prevention Coalition (KIPC) / SAFE KIDS Hawaii's mission is to prevent and reduce injuries to children in Hawaii.

Statewide community-based organization, established in 1991 by Hawaii Department of Health (incorporated as non-profit in 1995), comprised of broad-based representation from more than one hundred-fifty organizations, agencies, and individuals committed to preventing injuries to children and youth in Hawaii.

KIPC also serves as the Hawaii chapter of SAFE KIDS Worldwide. This affiliation with SAFE KIDS provides increased resources at the community level and enhances the impact of the coalition in preventing unintentional childhood injuries.
Injury is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Hawaii for all children, responsible for more deaths of children ages 1-17, than all other causes combined.

Automobile safety has been our major focus as traffic related injuries continue to be the leading cause of death for Hawaii's children and youth. KIPC/SAFE KIDS Hawaii, with the help of our members, community partners and volunteers has made major strides in improving vehicle occupant protection for children in our state.
Safety Seat Inspection Stations statewide offer hands-on education free of charge. Link to our Event Calendar or the Child Passenger Safety page and find a station near you.
